Selecting your Name in the Society

Choose your name carefully. Find a name you like before you start using it. Many people have tried changing their Society name after several years, and have discvered that they will forever be known by their original name.

Registering Your Name and Device

The College of Arms for the Society has an indepth set of Standards for Evaluation of Names and Armory (SENA) covering both names and heraldic arms (devices) used in the SCA. The link below will take you there:

In the Kingdom of Northshield, The Keythong Herald's Office is responsible for collecting, evaluating and approving submissions the College of Arms. The Keythong Herald then submits these forms to the SCA College of Arms and tracks the progress externally. There are a number of resources available on the Kingdom Web Site, including an explanation of the process and the appropriate forms for submission.
